Movie thoughts, Old and New...

Recently watched the Godfather movies (I and II), again after not seeing them for a while. They still hold up as two of my all time favorites, and I am not a big fan of gangster/mafia movies. One of the famous critics (forget which one) calls them two of the finest films ever made and I tend to agree. I also think it is one of the rare cases where the sequel is better: Godfather II is my favorite. I do dis-agree with the critics (and a lot of people) on the Godfather III; while not as good as the first two I think it is decent movie: a lot of people and critics hated it. Am a big Al Pacino fan, for some of his recent work, I like the Oliver Stone football movie: Any Given Sunday.
New Movies:
Saw the third Matrix movie recently. It has gotten its share of bad reviews but I liked it. I actually liked it better than the second one, but not as much as the first. The second one had great effects (the highway chase), but the third one had a better story line. Really liked the whole cast, even the character actors in small parts were very good.
