Odd TV Programming
May. 3rd, 2004 04:28 pmI think there is a song by Bruce Springsteen that has a lyric that goes something like "100 channels and nothing on". While that is open to debate, it definitely looks like cable TV has trouble with enough content, especially on specialized channels. Two recent observations: The History Channel, which I like a lot, has taken to running movies. While some are historical movies and more or less fit, they ran "Dirty Harry" a while ago. This is a perfectly fine cop movie, but I fail to see how it belongs on the History channel. Also, the Sci-Fi channel is now running Hercules, which while an OK show, really is not Science Fiction (at least IMHO). TV is strange.
