Interesting News about old job
Mar. 21st, 2005 06:07 pmA while back, I mentioned working at a company that was bought by another company in 2002. It was a bad experience, and we were poorly treated by the acquiring company in numerous ways. I left after about 8 months. A few days ago, I learned the evil acquiring company has recently been bought. This definitely brings mixed feelings:
1) I worry about some of my old coworkers and employees and how they will make out going through another one of these.
2) However, I cannot help being a little amused to see that many of the folks that treated us poorly are about to be on the receiving end of getting acquired.
I am sure people's experiences vary, but the thing I took away from being at a company that was acquired is the old "money changes everything". Our CEO really put on a show about caring for his employees until there was a potential for a big payday for him. At that point, he really did not care what happened to the employees.
