Saved by "Stretch a dollar"

Am on a trip, and my reading glasses' frame broke. The glasses are going to be replaced with a new prescription next week, so the loss of the glasses is not that big of a deal. My immediate problem was that my close up vision is pretty much shot without the glasses. I tried taping them which sort of worked, but made me look like the National Lampoon nerd poster, or worse. There is a little strip mall a block from the hotel. They have a "Stretch a dollar" store that sells cheapo reading glasses for a buck. They are not as good as my real prescription but work "good enough". I am so happy I bought an extra set to have as a back up. One dollar glasses that work!
