Really wanted proper multiple desktops on my MAC (I had been using a buggy freeware app). So... I made the plunge and upgraded to Leopard (10.5.3), and things look pretty good. The Spaces tool (Apple's name for multiple desktops) works nicely. My applications mostly work fine, but I have encountered two problems:
1) My local Apache web server with PHP did not work after the upgrade, and took some fiddling. This article on PHP and Leopard was very helpful. The good news is that Apple is now shipping PHP 5, instead of 4 (which came with Tiger). I had to manually upgrade Tiger to use PHP 5.
2) My local MySQL is having issues, I have not had a chance to debug that yet.
In general, it was a smooth process.
