MBTA halts purchase of Green Line 'lemons'
Hopefully, after many years of poor service, this is the slow beginning of improvements. It is a shame however, that almost 10 years and a pile of money were wasted. The new cars were quite nice (when they worked).
The other thing I noticed is that at least they claim they are going to stop making purchase decisions based totally on who had the lowest bid. I hope this is true. As a software manager, I once inherited a disaster project where upper management had selected an outsourcing contractor solely on price. We ended up doing most of the work again internally.
