Just got back from the yearly condo meeting. I generally view these with less enthusiasm than dental work. However, a successful meeting was run in less than 90 minutes. The property manager was great, he successfully pulled off keeping the meeting on track with a written agenda. In addition, there were reasonable answers for a few legitimate issues that were raised by myself and others. In some other meetings over the years, we have had 3-4 hour fiasco meetings with little useful done. In at least one of these meetings, a previous "professional" management company tried to run a major meeting with no agenda, believe it or not.

We have had some common area painting and carpeting redone this year and people were given the chance to vote on the colors. However, that is very subjective and some people do not like the colors picked by the majority. In listening to people, I have concluded that painting and carpeting have a lot in common with website design. In meetings for website look and feel issues, I have essentially heard about the same arguments about the paint and carpet color that occurred tonight (did not like the color, too many colors, too few colors, what does and does not match, etc...).
