Feeling old at the bank

tn3270This has now happened to me several times with different bank employees.
I made a journey to the bank today to deposit a check into a savings account. In a true "blast from the past", I have had the same passbook account for about 25 years. When I present the passbook at the bank, they are very confused and do not know what to do. Today it took about 10 minutes, and required consultation with a manager to get my book updated to reflect one deposit, and interest credited. Note that this is normally a good bank with very bright employees. It looks like passbooks are so dated at this point, that it is simply not something they are trained to deal with. Oh well...
