Concert: 70s prog rock: The Strawbs

tn3270On Friday evening, I went to see The Strawbs at the The Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA.
I have liked the Strawbs since the late 70s and early 80s. I first discovered them because I am a Yes fan, and Rick Wakeman was in the Strawbs before joining Yes. However, with or without Rick Wakeman, they are great.
Friday's concert featured what is considered the "classic" lineup from the 70s (Dave Cousins, Dave Lambert, John Hawken, Chas Cronk, and Rod Coombes). They played most of the songs from the Album "Hero and Heroine" which is one of my two favorite Strawbs albums. They also played a good selection of songs from their many other albums.
Dave Cousins voice still sounds great, and he is 62 according to Wikipedia. Dave Lambert is a truly excellent lead guitarist, I had forgotten how good he was.
There is a pretty good Wikipedia article about them.
Also, most of their LPs are now available on CD with really nice digital remasters.
