Am about half way through "the Great Unraveling: Losing Our Way in the New Century" by Paul Krugman. It is largely a collection of his economics essays originally written for the New York Times. It is very enlightening, and readable. Economics does not always make the most exciting reading but this is very interesting. This book is listed as recommended on the
Bush in 30 Seconds Site. I agree.
Also it is a great book for reading on the subway or in any context where there is opportunity for reading in shorter chunks of time, since it is largely 2-4 page essays. I hate to stop in the middle of a chapter.
